Park Gardens: Bad Zwischenahn

Happy Mothers’ Day!

Today was on me. I cooked a pretty mean breakfast: pancakes, eggs, coffee, fruit salad, smoothie (ok those are not cooked)… piled everyone into the car and we were off.

Restrictions are easing and some of the open-air/outdoor places are allowed to entertain visitors. Park Gardens (Park der Gärten) is basically a giant display of gardens one could buy for one’s own castle… except with a few play areas for kids and no salesmen. Kind of “botanical gardens meets a park meets the plant nursery”.

They have Viking themed gardens, including a Viking style hut for those unexpected friends who barge into your territory and want to use your BBQ. I guess. Japanese gardens with the fish and the stones and the well shaped little plants. A cemetery. Not sure if that’s a theme you can buy.

There’s a big tower that Mateo and I walked all the 100+ stairs to the top.

The sun was shining and given that snow had graced us not many weeks before, it was “warm”. We ate ice cream in the shade of a tree in the afternoon before heading home.
