Gettin’ Grub at Horster Grashaus

It was planned for the weekend of the very special lady’s birthday and a recommendation had come in that a special place would be the special prescription from the special doctor.
Special special.
An online reservation was confirmed and all that was left to do was wait until the date booked.
Like every other day when you’re feeling old, the future date came quickly.
We drove, but not for long, and arrived. There’s not much to say; there’s farms, large expanses of farm land, then! There it is.
The driveway entrance caused a bit of confusion and the driveway itself is quite narrow, hopefully, the intent is that traffic only drives in one direction. Not sure. It leads to a car park of sorts… An expanse of land where cars are parked, and boy were there cars parked! We felt relieved that we had a booking (and the corresponding confirmation), otherwise, getting a table appeared difficult. We parked, we entered, we looked around awkwardly. There was one free table but for at least nine people. We were to be three adults and the knee-high musical joker. That table to people combination didn’t match.
Eventually, a waitress, or waitperson or employee or person was located and the query put forward, if one has a booking, where might one sit and eat? No booking received is the answer.
Eh?
We have a confirmation. Internet doesn’t count due to data protection laws, apparently. Called in bookings are the only acceptable form of reservation. Calls were attempted before the stressed and unanswered caller reserved online. Nothing to be done… booked out. Sorry.
Grim, no?
Special lady called the special guest to inform of the special occurance. She had just parked. It was agreed we’d all hightail it out of there and try our luck at a less special location.
Heads avoiding the downward glances of the food gods… We trudged out.
HALT!
The booking no booking lady waiter ornament had called the people of the nine place table. Cancelled due to illness.
Special guest was called and summoned back.
A special breakfast buffet was enjoyed and the special food gods were especially pleased.
